Miho Bottle and Can Fill Level Inspection System

  • Miho Newton X2Z

    Miho Newton X2Z

To check the fill level inspection for any under-filling and overfilling in bottles and beverage cans, regardless of the product or the label (metal foil is also possible).

The measurement is based on an X-ray technology especially developed for this purpose. By using a line detector (fill level measurement range: 20mm), it is possible to accurately inspect any under-filling or overfilling with just one inspection head. Minimum radiation exposure, since pulsed X-ray radiation is only generated at the short moment of measurement. The radiation emission is typically below the naturally occurring levels in enclosed spaces.

Comprehensive statistics for individual types of faults are available. A serial fault detection is implemented. Connection to an external production data acquisition system is possible.

The inspection head can be adjusted by using the handwheel height adjustment. The point of installation is normally at the outfeed of the filler or at the outfeed of the labelling machine.

  • Miho Newton X2P

    Miho Newton X2P

Miho Newton X2P is used to check the any underfilling in containers such as bottles, carton packaging and beverage cans, regardless of the product or the label (metal foil is also possible). Broad spectrum of applications: even foaming products to be controlled!

  • Miho Newton IR 2

    Miho Newton IR 2

To check the fill level for any underfilling and overfilling in glass and PET bottles, easy handling. The inspection is carried out by an infrared measuring method (absorption) by two independently adjustable measuring spots. Optionally, the bottle can be inspected for the presence of the cap. The point of installation of the fill level inspection unit is usually at the outfeed of the filler or the outfeed of the labelling machine, with limitations (see below).

Comprehensive statistics for the individual types of faults are available. A serial fault detection is implemented. Connection to an external production data acquisition system is optional.

The inspection head can be adjusted when changing the bottle type. In addition, the measurement point for overfilling can be manually adjusted independently of the measuring point for underfilling.

Not suitable for bottles labelled at the fill level and swing top bottles with a fill level at the bracket area.

  • Miho Newton HF 2

    Miho Newton HF 2

To check the fill level for any underfilling in transparent glass and PET bottles, easy handling.

The inspection is carried out by using a high-frequency measurement method (HF). In addition, the bottle is inspected to see if the cap is present: metal caps via inductive proximity switches or plastic caps via light barriers. The system compensates for any fluctuations in temperature through self-calibration.

Comprehensive statistics for individual types of faults are available. A serial fault detection is implemented. Connection to an external production data acquisition system is possible.

The inspection head can be adjusted when changing the bottle type. The point of installation is normally at the outfeed of the filler, as long as it is a non-foaming product, or at the outfeed of the labelling machine.

Not suitable for swing top bottles, metallised labels, long caps, tinfoil and highly viscous products and spirits.

  • Miho Newton Optics 3

    Miho Newton Optics 3

To measure the fill level for any underfilling and overfilling and to inspect the cap of bottles using the optical method.
State-of-the-art camera and lighting technology that uses multi-optical axes (offset by 90°/ 270° coverage) and variable lighting.

Up to seven images per bottle can be created and evaluated according to many different criteria by the image processing system miho VIDIOS®.
The VIDIOS-License is valid independently of the number of container and product variants, also when adding further bottle types later.
The inspection head can be adjusted by using the handwheel height adjustment. The point of installation is normally at the outfeed of the filler.

Fill level inspection: inspects the fill level for any underfilling and overfilling in transparent, cloudy/non-transparent and foaming liquids, provided that the fill level is not obscured by a label. Lighting through the reflected and/or transmitted light method.

Cap: inspection of the cap for exact fit (slanted position/ depth screwed on) and bullnoses. Inspection for damage to the safety ring in metal and plastic screw caps.

Wrap-around label: checks for the presence and the position of a wrap-around label for PET bottles

Expiry date (on the side): checks for the presence of an expiry date on the side of the cap . Here, the expiry date must be on the side facing the camera

Detection of nitrogen fog directly after filler and capper

A series fault detection is implemented.

Not suitable for opaque containers and for bottles with lables in the fill level area.
