Manual TAPPI Sheet Former

Manual equipment for the formation of standardised wet paper sheets in the laboratory. To manufacture paper samples, gently stir the pulp suspension and withdraw 400ml for each sheet. Half-fill the forming cylinder and pour in the prepared sample, adding water via the inlet valve until reaching the upper mark. Insert the perforated shaker and shake 5 times over 6 seconds, repeat, then carefully remove the stirrer, wait 5 seconds, and open the water evacuation valve.

The sheets obtained in the former are pressed in a laboratory press and then dried, ready for physical and optical testing.
