The GBIT Glass Bottle Impact Tester simulates real transport and handling impacts, giving objective data on a bottle’s mechanical resistance before it reaches the supply chain. Its pendulum strike mechanism, based on energy conservation, delivers precise, repeatable impacts up to 2.6J.
Glass breaks. The question is whether it meets your resistance standard. The GBIT Glass Bottle Impact Tester simulates real transport and handling impacts, giving you objective data on your bottle’s mechanical resistance before it reaches the supply chain — reducing breakage, waste and liability.
The tester operates on the principle of energy conservation. The energy applied to the bottle during impact is determined by the pendulum’s potential energy at its starting position. By setting the pendulum at a specific angle, its potential energy corresponds to a particular impact energy value. Upon release, the impact on the bottle is measured to determine if the bottle is damaged.
Essential for glass container manufacturers needing to verify bottle and jar durability against real transport and handling impacts before products reach the supply chain.
