Large Aperture — Unique for Its Temperature Range

The BBS1500i-40 is an adjustable-temperature blackbody source with a wide temperature range of 50°C to 1500°C (122°F to 2732°F) and a 40mm (1.57 in) aperture, capable of precise calibration of pyrometers, thermal imaging cameras, FPA detectors, heat flux meters and spectroradiometers/photometers with spot sizes up to 24mm. It outperforms other blackbodies on the market for heat-up time — reaching 1450°C in just 40 minutes.

With its cylindrical cavity providing uniform temperature radiation, and simultaneous display of set point and actual temperature values, the BBS1500i-40 is reliable and easy to read.

Automated Calibration Certificates

The BBS1500i-40 is unique in that it can generate calibration certificates for PSC infrared sensors under test using KPM’s SensorCal3 software. It combines a precisely controlled temperature source with calibration and adjustment tasks — communicating with connected pyrometers to transmit and receive measurement data for manual or fully automatic calibration.

Key Features

• Calibrated using a Process Sensors Diadem ultra-high-accuracy transfer standard pyrometer.
• Once calibrated, can be used to calibrate PSC Metis, Sirius and Capella infrared sensing models, or items outside the PSC product line such as FPA detectors, heat flux meters, spectroradiometers and spectrophotometers.
• PC-connected setup generates calibration certificates and reports via SensorCal3 software.
• Auxiliary connections: PC communication interface with software, plus pyrometer analog output for analogue calibration.
