The MNC-10 Charpy-Izod Notching Machine cuts standardised V-notches into plastic test specimens ahead of Charpy and Izod impact resistance testing. Supplied with two blade types and a built-in micrometer, with variable speed to suit a wide range of materials.
Equipment designed to make standardised notches on samples, which are subsequently subjected to mono-axial impact resistance tests according to the Charpy and Izod procedures. The notch concentrates stress, minimises plastic deformation, and directs fracture to the part of the specimen behind the notch, reducing dispersion in energy-at-break results.
The cutting tool has a vertical cyclical movement and is equipped with a transparent methacrylate safety screen to protect operators.
Essential for plastics testing labs preparing Charpy and Izod impact specimens for plastic urban furniture, small household appliances, automotive parts and aeronautical parts.
Complies with: ASTM D256/A, ASTM D256/B, ASTM D4812, ASTM D6110, DIN 179-1, DIN 180, EN 179-1, EN 180, ISO 179-1, ISO 180, UNE 179-1, UNE 180.
