The BBS EX series offers a large 12" x 12" blackbody target for calibrating wider field-of-view IR sensors, thermal imaging cameras and focal plane array detectors. Available in three models — BBS230-EX, BBS350-EX and BBS500-EX — covering ambient temperatures up to 500°C.

12" x 12" Extended-Area Blackbody Source

The PSC-BBS series of blackbody calibration sources provide a target of known emissivity, temperature and aperture size, with calibration traceability to certified laboratories and national standards. The PSC EX series offers a large 12" x 12" target for calibrating wider field-of-view IR sensors — ideal where a standard small-aperture blackbody can’t fill the sensor’s whole field of view.

Three Models to Suit Your Temperature Range

  • BBS230-EX: Ambient to 230°C, 1500W max power.
  • BBS350-EX: Ambient to 350°C, 2000W max power.
  • BBS500-EX: Ambient to 500°C, 4500W max power.

All three share the same 12" x 12" (304mm x 304mm) target and emissivity of 0.96 ± 0.02.

Applications

Ideal for calibrating thermal imaging cameras and focal plane array (FPA) detectors that require a large, uniform emitter area to fill their entire field of view — wider than the aperture a standard benchtop blackbody source can provide.
