Aphrometer

Aphrometer

The Aphrometer measures internal pressure in champagne, sparkling wine, cider and still wine bottles after disgorgement, with variants designed for cork, crown cap, wire-hood or screw-cap closures. A robust piercing mechanism and stainless steel manometer ensure an accurate, airtight reading.

Aphrometer

The Aphrometer family measures internal pressure in champagne, sparkling wine, cider and still wine bottles, most commonly used to check pressure after the disgorgement of sparkling wines. A robust piercing mechanism penetrates the bottle’s closure — cork, crown cap, wire-hood, screw cap or synthetic stopper depending on the variant — while the closure itself maintains an airtight seal during the reading. Different Aphrometer configurations are available to suit the closure type and expected pressure range, from champagne and cider bottles topped with a wire-hood and cork, to crown-capped bottles undergoing secondary fermentation, to still wine bottles sealed with a regular or synthetic cork.

Key Features

  • Stainless steel manometer, with pressure ranges available from approximately -1–1.5 bar up to 0–10 bar depending on configuration.
  • Robust piercing mechanism suited to the target closure — wire-hood and cork, crown cap, or regular/synthetic cork.
  • Closure itself ensures an airtight seal during the test.
  • Durable, reliable construction, designed and manufactured in France.

Applications

Essential for sparkling wine, champagne, cider and still wine producers needing accurate, reliable internal pressure readings to confirm optimal carbonation and product quality across a range of bottle and closure types.
