The PD-10 Pulp Disintegrator provides standardised mechanical disintegration of cellulose pulp in water suspension at 2975 ± 25 rpm, allowing interlocking fibres to separate without appreciable cutting. Its compact, robust stainless steel construction includes a 2-litre vessel and digital revolution preselection.
Equipment for the standardised disintegration of cellulosic pulp in water suspension. This disintegrator allows the mechanical treatment of pulp in water so that interlocking fibres that were free on the sheet of pulp are again separated from each other, without appreciable cutting.
Three propeller blades placed at a fixed distance in the centre of the vessel rotate at a specified speed, with revolutions shown on a digital readout. The pulp sample is introduced into the vessel with water, placed firmly against the base stops, and the upper head closed. The desired revolution count is selected and the disintegration phase begins, stopping automatically when the digital counter reaches the preset speed.
Once disintegrated, the pulp sample can continue to refining in PFI or Valley-type equipment, and finally be used to produce paper sheets in a standard sheet former or “Rapid Köthen” type, ready for physical, surface and optical property testing. Meets TAPPI T205, ISO 5263, SCAN C.18/M2, NF Q 50002, UNE 57026 and PAPTAC C6.
