Newton X2Z

X-Ray Line Detector Fill Level Control

The miho Newton X2Z is a line-detector X-ray fill level inspector accurately checking underfilling or overfilling with a single inspection head across a 20mm measurement range. Its pulsed X-ray technology delivers low radiation exposure, ideal for cans, opaque containers or metal foil packaging.

Fill Level Control (Line Detector, X-Ray Technology)

The miho Newton X2Z uses X-ray technology specifically developed for fill level inspection. By using a line detector with a fill level measurement range of 20mm, it’s possible to accurately inspect any underfilling or overfilling with just one inspection head.

Minimum radiation exposure is achieved because pulsed X-ray radiation is only generated during the short moment of measurement, with radiation emission typically below the naturally occurring levels found in enclosed spaces.

Key Features

  • Line detector — 20mm fill level measurement range.
  • Pulsed X-ray technology, low radiation.
  • Single inspection head covers both underfilling and overfilling.
  • Comprehensive statistics for individual fault types.
  • Serial fault detection implemented.
  • Connection to external production data acquisition system possible.
  • Handwheel height adjustment for the inspection head.

Typical Performance

For mineral water, cola and beer, typical accuracy is ±1.5mm with a detection rate of ≥99.4%. X-ray fill level technology is particularly well suited to cans, U-shaped bottles, opaque containers or containers with metal foils, and can be installed after the filler or labeller regardless of product or container type — including swing-top bottles.

Applications

Ideal for beverage lines running cans, opaque or foil-lined containers where optical, HF or IR fill-level methods aren’t practical.
