The MFI-500/AP Melt Flow Index Tester determines the flow index of thermoplastic materials via the gravimetric method, with automatic sample cutting and PID temperature control holding ±0.1°C. Prepared for corrosive materials such as PVC, with CE marking.
The MFI-500/AP is a plastometer for determining the melt flow index of thermoplastic materials using the gravimetric method. It’s prepared to work with corrosive materials such as PVC, with automatic sample cutting to improve cut-off accuracy.
Ideal for determining thermoplastic flow behaviour and viscosity in quality control laboratories, particularly where corrosive materials such as PVC are part of the testing programme.
Note: to calculate the flow index using the gravimetric method, the extruded material must be weighed with a resolution of 0.001g — a precision balance is recommended.
