ER-1

Enamel Rater for Internal Coating Integrity

The ER-1 Enamel Rater tests internal enamel coating integrity in cans, tubes, aerosols and covers, covering 0-300mA at ±5% F.S. accuracy. Its 7″ touchscreen automatically starts measurement when the probe contacts the electrolyte solution, and can visually detect exposed metal positions.

Enamel Rater for Internal Coating Integrity

The ER-1 Enamel Rater offers a fast and accurate method to measure the integrity of internal coating in containers. Measurement starts automatically when the electrical probe is inserted and contacts the electrolyte solution inside the container. The position of exposed metal can be detected visually by pressing the “REVERSE” button, with bubbles of gas appearing at exposed points.

The instrument applies a constant micro-voltage (6.3V DC) across the can body and an electrode immersed in the electrolyte solution, measuring the resulting current to display an index of the amount of metal exposed by incomplete enamel coverage.

Key Features

  • Integrated 7″ LCD touchscreen with user-friendly interface.
  • Multiple measurement modes: 4-second mode, continuous mode, and user-defined mode.
  • Automatically starts measurement upon probe contact with solution.
  • Visually detects the position of exposed metal.
  • Stores operator, product, sample and batch numbers for tracking and reporting.
  • RS232 output for data management.
  • User self-calibration supported.

Applications

Essential for quality control in food and beverage can, tube and aerosol packaging, ensuring internal enamel coating integrity meets production standards.
