PSC-SSS-PM Series

Miniature IR Sensor for Robotic & Inaccessible Targets

The PSC-SSS-PM is a miniature 1-colour IR sensor built for measuring inaccessible or moving objects in hot environments, with cable runs up to 30 metres and a -20°C to 2000°C range. Its cable-movement-resistant design makes it ideal for mounting on robotic arms.

Miniature Infrared Temperature Sensor

Compact and rugged, the PSC-SSS-PM sensor heads are constructed of stainless steel and come with a full range of unique companion accessories that enable accurate non-contact temperature measurement of inaccessible or moving objects in hot environments (up to 356°F/180°C). The sensor is resistant to interference from movement of the sensing head cable, making it ideal for mounting on robotic arms. Cable lengths can be extended up to 30 metres.

Offering a choice of temperature ranges from -20°C to 2000°C, the two-piece sensor system features adjustable emissivity settings on all models. Its space-saving design is easy to wire and simple to integrate into existing data acquisition systems.

Two Models to Suit Your Application

  • PSC-SSS-PM General Purpose: Ideal for a wide range of target materials including paper, plastics, food, coated metal, ceramics and painted surfaces, as well as liquids and powders.
  • PSC-SSS-PM 2.2 High Temperature: For higher-temperature applications requiring the full 2000°C range.

Optional Touch Screen Display

An optional touch screen display provides a bright readout of the measured temperature and allows full, simple configuration of the sensor including alarms. The display changes colour to give immediate alert to alarm conditions, and a graph display feature illustrates the history of a measured temperature. Data logging to an optional MicroSD card is available with the touch screen display, letting the operator select a sample rate and number of samples, and schedule a data logging start time.
