Tumbling Tester for Crown Closures

The CCTT Tumbling Tester for Crown Closures evaluates the shedding of metal and coating from crown caps, an indispensable instrument for cap manufacturers, breweries and quality inspection agencies. Its two-chamber design tests 50 caps at once, running at 20 RPM for an adjustable duration up to 99 minutes.

Tumbling Tester for Crown Closures

The AT2E CCTT Tumbling Tester is designed to evaluate the shedding of metal and coating from crown closures. This tool is essential for cap manufacturers, breweries and quality inspection agencies.

Divide 50 cleaned caps into two groups of 25 each. Weigh each group with an accuracy of 0.1mg. Place the caps into the sample chambers and run the test for the set time (up to 99 minutes, typically 50 minutes) at a speed of 20 RPM. Remove the caps, clean off any wear film, and reweigh each group with the same accuracy. Calculate the weight loss for each group, then average the results to determine the cap’s abrasive wear value, comparing it to the standard range.
