Ash On-Line Analyzer

Automatic On-Line Ash Analyzer

The Ash On-Line Analyzer monitors dried white sugar crystal quality via conductometric ash determination following ICUMSA regulations, automatically allocating different sugar qualities to the correct storage silos. Preparation takes about 1 minute, with full analysis in 25-30 minutes.

Automatic On-Line Ash Analyzer

SCHMIDT + HAENSCH offers an on-line ash analyzer to monitor the quality of dried white sugar crystals. The device consists of an automatic sampling system, which can also be used in hazardous ATEX zones, using conductivity to determine non-sugar content. It fulfils the standard lab procedure for ash determination following ICUMSA regulations.

The SCHMIDT + HAENSCH on-line ash analyzer is a stand-alone, PC-controlled analyzer requiring just a few preparation steps before sample analysis. It’s normally implemented after the drying drum, taking random samples before they reach the conveyor belts.

Key Features

  • Automatic sampling system, ATEX-zone compatible.
  • Conductivity-based non-sugar content determination.
  • Follows standard ICUMSA ash determination procedure.
  • Preparation time approximately 1 minute.
  • Sample measurement time 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Sample dissolved and diluted automatically to a defined concentration (28 Brix).
  • Measurement results transferred immediately to the sugar factory control room.

Applications

Inorganic components remaining after complete incineration of organic substances are defined as ash. As a purity criterion for sugar and related products, conductometric ash determination is preferred as it’s closely related to sulphated ash. The device immediately allocates different sugar qualities to their respective storage silos, avoiding unwanted mixing.
