PSC-CMS Series

Ultra-Compact IR Temperature Sensor

The PSC-CMS Series is a low-cost, ultra-compact IR temperature sensor with small spot sizes down to 1mm and a wide -20°C to 1600°C span. Its embedded electronics and compact design make it ideal for secondary metal processing, oxide and ceramic measurement, and OEM integration.

Low-Cost Ultra-Compact IR Temperature Sensor

The PSC-CMS Series is a low-cost, ultra-compact sensor with a small spot size, fast response time, alarm options and a variety of wavelengths. The pyrometer provides 0-10 volt or 4-20mA outputs, with temperature ranges from -30°C to 1600°C.

The CMS series has a wide overall temperature span of -20°C to 1600°C and target spot sizes down to 1mm, depending on the model — particularly well suited to secondary metal processing, and the measurement of oxides and ceramic materials. The IR sensor can measure through viewport windows such as quartz, pyrex, glass and sapphire, and the stainless steel sensing head withstands ambient temperatures up to 85°C (185°F) without cooling.

Key Features

  • Ultra-compact design, ideal for custom OEM application requirements across a range of industries.
  • Scalable analogue outputs of 0-1, 0-5, 0-10VDC and alarm, provided by embedded PC board within the sensor head cable.
  • Programmable parameters including emissivity, window transmissivity, peak and valley hold, averaging, response time, and sub-temperature range adjustment.
  • Compact design and flexible integration options suit OEM applications.

Software

Process Sensors’ PSC Connect software (USB connection) supports sensor set-up, multi-tasking, graphic display of temperature trends and data logging — letting you fully customise the sensor to your application.
